Certificate in Japanese for the Global Workplace
To declare the certificate in Japanese for the Global Workplace, a student must receive at least a “C” or AP credit in each of JPN 101, JPN 102, JPN 153, and JPN 201.
To complete the certificate, during the spring semester of their senior year or after completing JPN 255 and JPN 231 or JPN 291, students must complete an ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), conducted by a designated and certified faculty member in
the Japanese program. The expectation is that students’ oral proficiency reach the level of Intermediate-Mid or higher. A minimum “C” average is required for all courses in the certificate.
